Consultation with
Doctor Teixeira

The consultation with the surgeon is crucial, make sure you come prepared to discuss your concerns and any questions you may have about your procedure. Whether you’re planning a cosmetic procedure or addressing a medical concern it is important to have a specialist assessment and elaborate a treatment plan.

04
Prepare for surgery

Preparing for the surgery can be as important as the operation itself. You need to be both physically and mentally prepared. Adopt a healthy routine, exercise, eat nutritious food, avoid smoking, these will strengthen your body and optimise the healing process post-surgery.
You should take care not to stress yourself out, make it a priority to establish good rapport with your surgeon and try to remain calm on the day of the surgery.
05
Your surgery

Choosing the right surgeon is vital to the success of your surgery, on the day itself you should be calm and confident with your procedure and recovery plan.
You should be prepared for your hospital stay and have someone to take you home. You may also need to arrange for your friends or family to assist you for the first few days post surgery.
Following the aftercare guidelines laid out by your surgeon will guarantee a successful outcome of the procedure. Always follow through!

Yes, all surgeries have risks and complications and we take patient safety very seriously. Cosmetic surgery should not be trivialised and should be carefully considered after appropriate medical advice. Dr Teixeira will explain the risks associated with every treatment and provide thorough information about the procedure that you wish to undertake
Dr Teixeira is the main surgeon performing all procedures. He may have surgical assistants in bigger cases. He also oversees the post-operative care until you are fully recovered with the assistance of experienced nurses.
While it is not guaranteed, most patients are afforded a private room
Australia is possibly one of the best countries to have an anaesthetic. Risk of complications from general anesthesia is minimal, and even patients with medical conditions are able to undergo anesthesia safely. All surgery is performed under the supervision of a dedicated specialist anaesthetist who will also provide you with a customised post-operative pain relief medicine regime, to ensure your recovery is comfortable and as pain free as possible. Your wellbeing and comfort are our highest priority.
The type of anaesthetic depends on multiple factors, such as age, general health, type of procedure, etc. The choice of anesthetic will be discussed during the consultation and confirmed by the anaesthetist on the day of surgery. With the exception of local anesthetic only, all other types of anaesthesia are performed and monitored by a dedicated specialist anaesthetist who will also provide you with a customised post-operative pain relief medicine regime, to ensure your recovery is comfortable and as pain free as possible. Your wellbeing and comfort are our highest priority.
It is very common to combine different treatments before and after surgery to maximise results, especially in facial cosmetic surgery. For instance, patients interested in facial rejuvenation, may start treatment with skin preparation before surgery. After surgery, dermal therapies and injectables can be used for further local enhancement or maintenance.
If you are not satisfied with the results or you think that the procedure was not carried out properly, you should first take up the matter with the practitioner. Don’t ignore your feelings. You may only need a little reassurance as the healing process varies between individuals and may take extra time for swelling, bruising or the appearance of scarring to subside. Explain your concerns and ask what options might be available to make the situation better. Try not to become angry as the doctor will want to help you as much as possible. If your concerns persist after you are fully recovered, revision surgery may be an option. There are situations where minor adjustments may be possible to resolve the complaint. However, there will be cases that require major revision. Despite your surgeon’s experience, the medical literature recognises that complications may occur even with the best surgical care.
